T&T face Guyana in World Cup qualifying final
Jamaica in action against the Bahamas on day two of the tournament in Georgetown

Trinidad & Tobago will play Guyana in the final of the Caribbean Rugby World Cup 2011 qualifying tournament on Saturday after the two sides won their respective Cup semi finals against Barbados and Bermuda in Georgetown.

The winner of the final will go on to to play the winner of the Consur B championship, featuring Brazil, Paraguay, Colombia, Venezuela and Peru, later in 2008.

Bermuda 13-25 Guyana

Guyana were quickly into their stride against Bermuda, tries by centres Kevin McKenzie and Theodore Henry taking them to a 12-0 lead after only 10 minutes.

Ryan George added a penalty kick as Guyana attacked relentlessly outside through the pace of McKenzie and West Indies Sevens captain Claudius Butts, but back row forward Benjamin Beasley's try gave Bermuda hope, 15-8 down at the break.

Guyana started the second half as they did the first, however, and a quick try by fly half Christopher Singh put them well ahead. Both sides battled hard in the heat with neither making inroads until Henry kicked and collected cleverly to score and put the result beyond doubt. Chris Furburt pulled a try back for Bermuda in the dying seconds to make the final score to 25-13 in favour of Guyana.

Barbados 0-56 Trinidad & Tobago

A first half full house - a try, penalty, drop goal and conversion - by veteran fly half Brenden O'Farrell inspired Trinidad and Tobago to a perfect start against Barbados, and a lead they never looked like giving up.

O'Farrell dictated the game, keeping Barbados pinned in their own half for much of the match, and finished with a 24-point personal haul in the convincing 56-0 victory.

O'Farrell's 40-yard drop goal after only a few minutes put the first points on the board and two tries by right wing Kidone Silverthorne, one for Peter Bacchus as well as a penalty try and O'Farrell's own effort saw T&T to a comfortable and deserved 37-0 half time lead.

After the break O'Farrell continued in similar vein, scoring his second try before Rob Stone and Kelson Figuero also crossed to seal an impressive performance, and the final match-up against Guyana.

Bowl semi finals

Bahamas 19-12 Jamaica

Three impressive penalties by Brian Baker helped the Bahamas secure a place in the Bowl Final against Mexico at the weekend.

In hot and humid conditions at the South Sound Rugby Ground Jamaica started the stronger with a try by Donald Walters. Captain Andrew Fong coverted for a 7-0 lead but Bahamas scrum half Kevin Salabie pulled the scores level after scoring from a charge down and converting.

Salabie added one penalty and Baker a long-range second to give the Bahamas a 13-7 lead at half time. Kevin Howard brought Jamaica within a point of Bahamas with a try after the break but Baker slotted a couple of late kicks at goal to earn Bahamas a deserved 19-12 victory.

Mexico 13-6 Cayman Islands 6

Mexico gained their first international victory in their Bowl semi final, a 13-6 victory over Cayman booking their place against Bahamas at the weekend.

With the sides locked at 6-6 at the break, centre Fernando Ramos scored the game's only try on 68 minutes which Pablo Septien coverted for a seven-point lead which the Mexicans defended until the final whistle.
