Nicknamed Les Bleus or Les Tricolores, France has a long Rugby history, playing their first international test match in 1906 against New Zealand. While they have reached the knock-out stages of every RWC since 1987, they are yet to win a Tournament. In 1987, they lost the Final to the home side New Zealand and at RWC 1999 were defeated in the Final by Australia. France also competes annually in the Six Nations Championship and hosted RWC 2007.
