Travel Packages in high demand
Australian fans enjoyed travel packages to France for RWC 2011

Official Travel packages went on sale on January 1 and fans have been flocking to secure the ultimate RWC 2011 experience...

In 2011, New Zealand will be the place to be for all Rugby fans as they have the opportunity to experience international Rugby at its best, combined with breathtaking scenery and good old Kiwi hospitality. The best way to secure RWC 2011 tickets and experience a taste of New Zealand is through an official travel package.

The official Travel and Hospitality Programme is managed by Rugby Travel and Hospitality (NZ) Ltd. (RTH) which bring years of experience in creating high-quality, unique experiences for major Rugby events including RWC 2007.

In October 2009, RTH appointed 20 Official Travel Agents (OTAs) which will each provide a range of packages catering for the varying needs of Rugby fans. The global spread of OTAs will help ensure supporters from all around the world can access official travel packages, support their teams and make the most of their time in New Zealand.

RTH Chief Executive Officer Andrew Burton said "An official travel package is a safe, easy and fun way to make the most of the Tournament. Fans can select the package which best suits their needs, the matches they want to see and the places they want to visit."

One OTA, Total Sport Travel, which caters to both the Australia and UK markets, has had over 2,000 expressions of interest and 400 deposits have already been paid since packages went on sale.

Said Mike Jones of Total Sport Travel "Interest in RWC2011 has been at unprecedented levels. The close proximity of Australia to New Zealand, the intense rivalry and shared camaraderie between the nations and that feeling of unrealised potential in recent World Cups from both the Wallabies and All Blacks has seen enquiries flooding in.

Now that the draw offers the tantalising prospect of an Australia v New Zealand final for the first time in RWC history then Aussies and Kiwis alike will not want to miss this spectacle. If both can get past the quarter-finals that is!"

Similarly, the two Official Corporate Hospitality agents will have corporate hospitality packages on sale from February 1 offering a full range of match day options to corporate consumers and Rugby supporters.
